FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

IS THERAPY RIGHT FOR ME?

The decision to seek therapy is rarely easy, so we do our best to make all our clients comfortable. Therapy can help with many different issues, ranging from individual concerns to relationship and family problems. We'd be happy to answer any individual questions you might have, feel free to give us a call!

HOW LONG WILL I BE IN THERAPY?

Therapy is a highly personalized, unique endeavor. Some people may only need a few sessions to resolve a specific issue, while some may need more ongoing, longer-term treatment. There's no right or wrong answer, and our therapists will work collaboratively with you to develop a treatment plan you're comfortable with. Each session generally lasts 45-55 minutes and can take place on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis.

IS THERAPY CONFIDENTIAL?

Yes, therapy is confidential. However, there are some exceptions. Exceptions include: intent to harm yourself or someone else, suspected child or elder abuse, and cases with legal proceedings. Additionally, if you are paying with insurance, some information gets released to the insurance company, like dates of services and diagnosis. Your therapist will certainly explain all of this in your first session, and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
